Mai Timraz evacuated from Gaza to Egypt on the 45th day of the war with her children. In this interview she revisits the first months of the war and tells of the living conditions that she and her family had to endure – no water, no electricity, lack of food, lack of sleep. Mai talks extensively about the impact of the war on her children, both in Gaza and now in Egypt, and about being a mother during this time. She speaks about the complexity of having evacuated the war, but still, in her everyday life and in her heart, feeling very much in Gaza, her home.
